Young attorney in the city
-By Dr.Claude Shema Rutagengwa

A young attorney had rented an office in the center of town,
decorated it with expensive, heavy oak furniture to impress
potential clients, had sent out engraved announcements about his
new business, and was eagerly awaiting the first phone call or
client who might walk in.  Suddenly he heard the elevator door
opening.  He picked up the phone and said in an imaginary
conversation, "Hello Mr. Smith, I will be glad to attend to your
matter as soon as I have a free minute.  Mrs. Hammer begged me
to do her estate, but I had to turn her down because of excessive
commitments.  But I will try to squeeze your case between others
as soon as possible.  Goodbye, Mr. Smith."  Then he looked up and
greeted the stranger, "Yes, may I help you?"  The stranger said,
"I am from the phone company and have come to connect your
phone."
