Sending Your Text via e-mail

Note: These are generic instructions, and will not apply to all programs.

Windows. ..

  1. In your word processing program, open your file and Select All. (This is usually under the edit menu or is obtained by pressing Control-A.)
  2. Select Copy under the edit menu. This puts the text on the clipboard.
  3. In Outlook, open a new message to publish@author-me.com.
  4. Include the title in the Subject line
  5. Click in the message area, type Author Name, press Enter.
  6. Select Paste under the edit menu (or press Control-V).
  7. Enter the address in the "to" box:  fiction@author-me.com, poetry@author-me.com, or nonfiction@author-me.com , or publish@author-me.com
  8. Click Send. If successful, you will receive a thank you message from us.

Alternately, if you are familiar with e-mail attachments, click on the attachments icon and select your text. It should be in a standard document format, including word processing or Adobe PageMaker .

If your message is so long that a server rejects it, send it in sections entitled "Part 1," "Part 2," etc.

Macintosh...
