On the Body Being a Temple

To love God is also to cherish the body which He gave us. The good book says our bodies are temples, made succinctly holy and without blemishes. Taking care of our bodies is honouring God for giving us life. Therefore we should never partake in any form of debauchery, never adulterate the holiness of our human temple. Some in their quest for pleasure got incurable diseases while the hapless few succumbed to avoidable deaths.

We should never involve ourselves in things which defile the purity of our bodies. At the same time, we should exert our energy in principles of good habits which better and enhance our well-being. We should eat nutritious food, brush our teeth and seek medical help when we feel sick, just to mention a few healthy habits.

When troubled or stressed, we should use good coping habits for the betterment of our mental health. We should go for walks to clear our minds. More often, we need to treasure downtimes as a form of leisure. We should have fruitful and healthy hobbies such as listening to music and watching movies. Most importantly, we should time and again meditate about our lives, where we are coming from, where we are and where we are going. Taking care of our mental health should be a top priority in our lives.

We should never forget the spirit. We need to earnestly pray when problems befall us. We should make the church be part of our home. Patronising church gatherings helps us connect to a higher power while at the same time being a part of a community which can support us when danger knocks on our doors. The church is the best place to meet new people and therefore make meaningful connections.

Because everything good comes from God, let's aim to honour God before pleasing mere beings. In all our blessings let's learn to give Him praise for His mighty hand that gave it all to us. Leading an upright life ensures better physical and mental health. So, in all that we do let's be a vessel of positivity instead of chasing cheap thrills.
