Kathy Hartwell earned a master's degree from Mountain State University. She teaches English Composition to college learners at the University of Charleston. She loves teaching her students, whether online or through traditional methods.

She lives in Princeton, West Virginia, with her husband of twenty-one years, Russell. Her 93-year-old mother, Della, lives with them where there is never a dull moment. Kathy has a son, Joe, who is a graduate student from West Virginia University. He is married to Sarah, the love of his life.

Kathy loves life, nature, and God's creatures. She loves exploring the mysteries that life offers and to shadow the findings in her personal life's writings.

Her first novel, “This Child of Mine” was published in 2010. She has had short stories, poems, blogs, editorials, and commentaries published both online and off. She took a hiatus from writing for a few years due to teaching in the academic world. Now she is ready to return to her first, and only, love -- creative writing – and to the interesting writers of all stages, ages, and genres.
