HE IS HERE
AMERICAN EMBASSY, LAGOS [10:00, 3 NOVEMBER 2010]
The embassy CIA Chief, agent Parker, flips through pictures and tries to match them with possible terrorists. All hands must be on deck for a report coming in this morning from CIA headquarters in Virginia claimed to have tapped a message from a notable terrorist “Drunken Marine,” a famous killer and number one invisible enemy of the States. No one has been able to trace him or find a lead to where he is; no camera has ever picked his image. He executed one of the agents in CIA named William Bush in Cairo, Egypt, during one of his clean assignments. The message was encrypted, and could have been routed from West Africa, no exact location, but Nigeria stands prone to attack. Johnson is scrolling down the data in his laptop, as he sips tea at the desk. From his experience these people enter a country with nothing, leave with nothing. This man called Blasé had nothing with him. That does not make him a terrorist. He is heavily bearded, and wears a turban around his head like a real Islamist. “Well my work is to find these guys send down their pictures to state security. Agent Parker walks up to him and stands in front of his desk.
“Drunken Marine is here.”
Nelson flinches like he has been hit. He does not like hearing that man’s name for he almost killed him along the line of duty.
“Sat 8 – Y routing secured line captured his message but could not decode it, we believe they would decode it.” Parker briefs him “He is either here or hanging out in the neighboring countries”
Parker walks over to the window and glances at the Island. Nelson tries to go through Drunken Marine’s profile
“Sir this man has reputation of attacking US interests, some failures encountered by CIA have been perpetuated by him.”
Memories flood Nelson’s brain; it is just like the wave hitting the bay, like a dead android coming back to life. He has encountered this motherfucker once. This is one part of history he doesn’t like remembering.
“He knows us by operation, he knows we know his location, Sir, inform Virginia to locate him right away,” he places his hand on his desk, picks up his camera and slots a memory card in place.
“Sir, I am off to duty, the next plane from Iran arrives in thirty minutes time, my line is open in case she calls,” Nelson left. Parker understands who she is. Nelson’s mother calls most of the time from Oklahoma; all he has to do is to redirect it to his line. Parker also heard about Nelson encounter with Drunken Marine, which led to the death of William Bush.
