Shree Prasad Devkota was born on Annapurna-6, Kaski, Nepal August 3, 1985. He has completed his Master’s degree in Mathematics Education and MPhil in Development Studies from Kathmandu University. Currently, he is working as Chairperson of Sustainable Development and Empowerment Forum (SDEF). He has worked as a lecturer. He has worked as Education Project Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Senior Consultant in different organizations. Recently, he has worked as Team Leader and Program Expert of monitoring projects for Social Welfare Council, Nepal.
He has also published books and several peer reviewed journal articles from national and international publications. He is also working as an editor and member of international advisory board in more than one dozen international journals and supporting diverse work of journal publication in the field of social sciences. Recently, he is working in the field of education of children, marginalized and socially excluded groups, especially on conflict management regarding the post conflict situation in Nepal. Moreover, he has conducted a study on “School Going Children’s Experience of Their Education and Life During and After the Peace Agreement in Nepal” as part of his MPhil dissertation which is in the final process of publication from Adroit Publications, New Delhi in the form of book. Likewise, he is involved in the study of human security, conflict management and peace education in Nepal.
He is also a member of Member of TRANSCEND Network for Peace, Development and Environment, Peace and Development Network, World Wide Peace Organization, and International Peace Bureau. This way, he has been serving in the peace and conflict related areas in the international community likewise. He is also interested in social welfare activities and want to get involved in the international community bringing forth the issues and agenda of conflict resolution in Nepal.
Adroit Publishers, a renowned name in the field of publication from India has published a book of a Nepali writer, entitled “Life and Education of Children in Nepal (Pre and Post Peace Agreement) on June 17, 2017. Shree Prasad Devkota, the author of the book, has tried to incorporate the heartrending stories of the conflict affected school going children during and after the conflict, peace agreement that were under the age of 18 during the tenure of 1996-2006, the era of armed conflict in Nepal. The writer has tried to maintain balance between the sufferers as he has chosen both the victims from the government and the revel party, CPN (Maoist). The study done in Gorkha district which was the most affected district of conflict in Nepal was the phenomenological case study of school going children. (Click image for more.)
